What's a typical day as a Senior Accountant?

• Core Responsibilities
• Independently prepares and reviews work in the following areas: 
• Journal entries, such as accrued liabilities, prepaid expense, intangibles, leased assets, various taxes, and contingent consideration
• Balance sheet account reconciliations
• Balance sheet account roll forwards, including variance analysis and explanations
• Compare and analyze bank statements
• Track and maintain reporting for fixed assets
• Prepare and present variance commentary of the monthly actuals review
• Support internal and external SOX 404 audit requests and compliance requirements
• Process fixed asset changes, such as retirements, closeouts and capitalization
• Analysis of P&L's

• Other Responsibilities
• Support departmental, functional and corporate initiatives
• Assist with the application of GAAP to new transactions
• Establish rapport and build cooperative, respectful working relationships with relevant internal and external parties
• As departmental workloads change, additional responsibilities may be required
  Qualifications:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Required: Advanced MS Excel / MS Office
  • Preferred: CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience
  • Preferred: Experience with HFM/PeopleSoft/SAP
  • Preferred: 2-6 years of experience with similar responsibilities in a $500M+ business
