Position Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Hollister
Contract: Direct Hire
Salary: $35/HR. ($72,800 annually)

Position Purpose
The Senior Accountant will oversee general accounting operations, controlling and verifying financial and inventory transactions. Responsibilities include reconciling account balances, overseeing inventory accuracy, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing month-end close procedures. The ideal candidate should possess excellent analytical skills along with a thorough understanding of accounting principles to analyze financial data, transactions, reports, and forecasts.
 
Responsibilities/Duties
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory staff and reconciliation process, providing input and recommendations for improvement.
  • Financial Operations: Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable to produce error-free accounting reports.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Analyze financial information, summarize financial status, and present results.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and advice on accounting systems and review recommendations for system modifications.
  • Goal Setting and Planning: Participate in departmental goal setting and assist with financial statement and budget preparation.
  • Compliance and Process Development: Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and develop/document business processes to strengthen internal controls.
  • Staff Management: Plan, assign, and review staff work while supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
 
Qualifications
  • Education: BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience as an accountant with a strong inventory management background.
  • Skills: Advanced MS Excel proficiency, accuracy, attention to detail, research skills, and quantitative aptitude.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with accounting and POS software such as GP Dynamics, Plate IQ, Nexternal, Silverware, etc.
  • Attributes: Deadline-oriented, confidential, thorough, and possessing strong analytical and communication skills.
 
Special Position Requirements
The candidate should demonstrate strong inventory background, thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures, and familiarity with GAAP. Experience with various accounting and POS software is a plus.
