Put your career in motion with a great, new opportunity. Join the Kelly® Professional & Industrial team as a Security Officer supporting a leading state hospital dedicated to providing exceptional inpatient psychiatric care for civil, forensic, and community populations statewide.


? Why you should apply to be a Security Officer:
? Location: 501 N. 24th St. Phoenix, AZ 85008
? Pay Rate: $19.08/hour
? Shift: 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM (40 hours/week, four 10-hour shifts)
? Employment Type: 4-month contract (extension/conversion to Full-Time possible)
? Work Setup: Onsite, hospital campus environment
?? What's a typical day as a Security Officer? You will:

  • Conduct daily rounds for egress/ingress control across Civil Hospital, Forensic Hospital, and Arizona Community Protection & Treatment Center.
  • Respond to emergencies, participate in codes and drills, and conduct campus safety inspections.
  • Rotate through assigned posts or serve as campus interior rover.
  • Assist staff during patient interventions by supporting non-violent crisis intervention (NVCI) methods.
  • Help resolve patient conflicts and maintain proper documentation.
  • Operate electronic cameras, radios, telephones, and other safety equipment.
  • Provide timely communications and feedback to on-duty Hospital Security Supervisor.
  • Perform vehicle/radio maintenance, safety inspections, and support related documentation.
? This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
  • Ability to receive, transmit, and execute written and verbal directives.
  • Proficiency in de-escalation, evacuation, and fire safety procedures (including fire extinguishers).
  • Experience with investigation, report writing, and operating electronic monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to respond to hospital codes and intervene verbally/physically in high-stress situations.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Knowledge of hospital security policies and ability to apply procedures.
  • Ability to perform physical duties such as lifting and carrying.
  • Commitment to supporting a diverse, inclusive workforce.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FPCC License (can apply upon hiring if not held).
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting and carrying.
Vaccine Requirements:
  • Rubella/Rubeola Titers OR MMR vaccination
  • Hep B Titer OR Hep B vaccination
  • Varicella Titer OR Varicella Vaccination
  • Current TB skin test OR QTB (from the past 12 months)
  • N-95 mask fitting
