Location: Cato, NY 13033
Employment Type: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 12:00 Midnight | Saturdays Required as Needed
Pay Rate: $23/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Sanitation Associate to join our team in a fast-paced food manufacturing facility. The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment by performing daily and scheduled sanitation of equipment, machinery, and production areas. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with all food safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize food production equipment, tools, and work areas in compliance with company and regulatory standards (FDA, USDA, GMP, HACCP).
- Follow daily and weekly Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) and SSOPs.
- Safely handle sanitation chemicals and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Dismantle and reassemble machinery for deep cleaning, when required.
- Complete sanitation logs, records, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Report sanitation, pest control, or food safety concerns to supervisors.
- Assist with internal and external audits and inspections.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as pressure washers, floor scrubbers, and foamers.
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and hygiene policies.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and follow written procedures, chemical labels, and safety instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing sanitation or janitorial services.
- Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, and food safety protocols.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills.
Work Environment
- Exposure to cold, wet, and humid conditions.
- Regular contact with cleaning chemicals and machinery.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders throughout the shift.
