Kelly Services is seeking Sanders for a Busy Cabinet Manufacturer in Rockledge, FL 32955

Pay:$15.50/hour (Pay increase upon permanent hire)

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pm
  • Note: Overtime is expected daily (10-hour workdays), and Saturday shifts may be required as needed.

Job Summary

The Sander is responsible for preparing cabinet parts and compartments for finishing by using a hand-operated orbital sander and other tools. This role inspects all incoming parts to ensure quality standards are met, verifies the finish of their own work, and maintains interdepartmental communication. Strong attention to detail and accountability are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Support the CARE values of the organization.
  • Commit to producing quality products for customers.
  • Use orbital sander to smooth drawers, doors, and correct deficiencies.
  • Prepare cabinet surfaces for paint or stain using various hand tools.
  • Inspect and touch surfaces to verify quality of finished workpieces.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
  • Carefully read labels and instructions; correctly place completed pieces on racks by order.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition.
  • Adhere to all prescribed safety procedures.
  • Complete and maintain paperwork for processed parts.
  • Perform all other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
  • 2+ years related experience preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to operate orbital sanders and safely use hand tools.
  • Must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Reports directly to the Finishing Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires constant physical effort, both inside and outside air-conditioned environments.
  • Must be able to lift/move over 50 lbs at a time.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, and perform various motions for long periods.
Position Type / Hours
  • Full-time; days and hours vary depending on business needs.
  • Overtime, including weekends, may be required.
Safety

Adherence to all safety protocols and use of required PPE is mandatory. Eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times on the production floor.
