Targeted pay rate: $36-43/hr depending upon qualification (this role qualifies for overtime when traveling)
Kelly Engineering seeks a Sales Application Engineer to join our client's team. In this role, the Sales Application Engineer prepares and executes machine demonstrations, supports customer training sessions, and ensures equipment readiness of CNC machines during the presales phase and client ramp-up production phase.
Qualifications / Experience Needed
- CNC machine sheet metal bending experience
- 2-year technical degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for customer success
- CAD software and CNC programming knowledge is desirable
Responsibilities
Technical & Applications Support
- Support setup and execution of standard and custom machine demos; assist applications engineers during customer demos and internal evaluations.
- Help prepare and support operator and maintenance training sessions.
- Develop working knowledge of machine software and HMI environments to assist with basic troubleshooting and parameter changes.
- Keep showroom machines operational through routine checks, calibration verification, cleaning, and consumable/tooling replacement.
- Support showroom reconfigurations for customer visits, demos, and events.
- Organize demo tooling, fixtures, sample parts, and workstations.
- Coordinate movement and staging of materials, tooling, consumables, and test parts.
- Monitor and replenish demo and training inventory.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and packaging of demo parts and tooling.
- Support event setup for customer visits and technology events.
- Assist with scheduling, resource planning, and documentation.
- Maintain technical documentation, tooling lists, demo specs, training materials, and equipment readiness checklists.
Travel: Approximately 30% (usually once per month)
