Job title: Safety Intern
Location: Jacksonville, FL 32206
Pay rate: $21ph
Contract: 3 months, 25 hours per week.
Interview: initial screen will be by phone and top candidates will be scheduled for an onsite
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Update Standard Work to make cohesive documents meeting division standards. (New format also incorporates key safety/JHA and operational details.) This will require following employees and asking questions. Ability to rationalize and re-define ambiguous instructions currently embedded in SOPs. Ability to rationalize critical steps for safety, quality, and workflow.
New format requires text, flowcharts, and photographs with captions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Superior written and oral communication skills are essential. Successful candidate will always be interacting with a wide array of personnel and conduct themselves professionally.
- Experience in creating technical work instructions desired but not required. Candidates should be able to submit proof/example of writing skills.
- Experience conduction and leading training desired.
- Successful candidate will be required to work closely with operators, assistant operators, and package department personnel. He/she may be asked to reach out to other plants for additional input and guidance.

Physical Demands
- Vision: Must be capable of reading letters and numbers and have good color perception.
- Range of Motion: Full, some bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for extend periods of time.
- Lifting Capacity: Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 20 pounds chest high.
- Sitting/Standing/Climbing: Standing for up to 8 hours daily and moving up and down stairs and ladders. (Ability to ascend ladders/stairs to tops of tanks.)
