Kelly, in partnership with a growing and stable manufacturing company is looking for a Roll Grinder Operator in Elkhart, IN.

This is a permanent opportunity meaning you will be hired directly with our client and offered their benefit and vacation package upon hire.

Details:
  • Hours: 7:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday
  • Pay; Dependent on experience
Job Description:
  • This position will be responsible for grinding of work rolls and back up tooling for Sendzimir rolling Mill (Z-Mill) Line and slitter knives for the Herr Voss Slitter.
  • Operates equipment safely conforming to established health and safety procedures (JSA's).
  • Operates equipment with high quality standards following all quality standards and Standard Work Instructions (SWI).
  • Performs all set ups to operate Roll Grind equipment to meet customer expectations.
  • Sets up and performs checks with micrometers, snap gauge and profilometer for dimensional checks to meet order requirements.
  • Records production data on production logs and work roll paper accurately for next operation.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Operate mobile equipment to move 1st and 2nd intermediates for processing.
  • Maintain cleanliness and 6S of work area and equipment.
  • Perform daily inspection and operate overhead crane for production purposes.
  • Perform filter changes filter bag.
  • Fills out Non-Routine safety evaluations for jobs that are not completed on regular basis.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
  • Good Shop Math and measuring skills
  • Roll Grind or manual lathe experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Critical thinker, enthusiastic with a positive approach towards co-workers and work
  • Problem solving skills
  • Technical/Mechanical aptitude
  • High attention to detail
  • Work with little supervision
