Research/ Sr Research Associate – CNS Drug Delivery
 
Job Summary:
Our client, an innovative neuroscience company at the forefront of biotechnology, is focused on developing cutting-edge brain shuttle technology to transform the delivery of therapeutics across the blood-brain barrier. Their proprietary platform aims to address critical challenges in treating Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. As part of their expanding team, they are seeking a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to support bioanalytical and in vivo studies in CNS drug delivery. This role will be pivotal in advancing the research and development efforts of their novel brain shuttle platform.

  • Pay Rate: $70,000 - $85,000 annually (depending on experience)

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • In Vivo Studies: Conduct hands-on in vivo rodent studies to investigate CNS drug delivery and efficacy, with a focus on large molecule therapeutics such as antibodies, oligonucleotides, and peptides.
  • Bioanalytical Techniques: Perform bioanalytical techniques including ELISA, RT-qPCR, and histology to quantify drug levels in plasma, brain, and other tissues. Ensure high-quality data generation for bioanalytical assays.
  • Tissue Collection and Processing: Collect and process tissue samples from animal models, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures for tissue acquisition and processing.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and interpret data from in vivo experiments and bioanalytical assays. Present findings clearly and effectively to the team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners (CROs) to ensure efficient execution of studies and successful project outcomes.
  • Study Support: Assist with the development of study protocols, contribute to study design, and support the preparation of study reports and regulatory submissions.
  • Laboratory Management: Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring the integrity of the experimental process and compliance with safety standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior research staff or new team members, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
 
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or related field.
  • Experience:
  • Research Associate: 2-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with in vivo rodent studies, bioanalytical techniques (ELISA, RT-qPCR), and tissue processing.
  • Senior Research Associate: 4+ years of hands-on experience in bioanalytical and in vivo techniques, with a demonstrated understanding of CNS drug delivery and large molecule therapeutics.
 
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in in vivo rodent studies and bioanalytical assays (ELISA, RT-qPCR, histology).
  • Familiarity with tissue collection, processing, and assay validation.
  • Experience in working with large molecule therapeutics, including antibodies, peptides, and oligonucleotides, is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data and maintain high-quality experimental standards.
