Research Associate/Associate Scientist
PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Design, perform, document and interpret experiments to support analytical development objectives as part of the Gene Editing Analytics Team. The Gene Editing Analytics Team develops, optimizes and qualifies molecular assays to determine the result of gene editing applications. Responsibilities include the development, optimization, execution, documentation and transfer of assays.
Education: (multiple position levels considered, depending experience)
-Research Associate/Sr. Research Associate - BS in Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or relevant discipline;
-Associate Scientist MS in Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or relevant discipline;
-Research Associate 1-3 years of lab experience with nucleic acid-based techniques
-Sr. Research Associate 3-5 years of lab experience with nucleic acid-based techniques
AS -Associate Scientist 5-7 years experience Master s degree;
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Thorough understanding of basic molecular biology techniques. gDNA and RNA isolation and handling experience. Primer and probe design Experience with qPCR, RT-qPCR and ddPCR Illumina workflow experience Ability to carefully follow existing methods and SOPs. Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Work effectively in a collaborative team setting. Ability to work in a dynamic environment and balance priorities. Desire to learn and able to follow guidance.
