Position: Contract Physician - Radiation Oncology

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Board Certification by the American Board of Radiology.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Documentation of certification provided annually to the VA COR.

Experience Requirements:

  • Expertise in 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT).
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT).
  • A minimum of 10 documented cases within the last two years in Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SBRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS).
  • Three (3) years experience with the Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA record & verify system including treatment modalities such as 2D/3D Conformal, SRS, SRT, SBRT, and IMRT/VMAT.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret a range of diagnostic services including mammography, nuclear medicine, PET, plain films, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI.
  • Provide general diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services for VA TVHS patients.
  • Utilize PACS and voice recognition systems for study interpretation and report generation.
  • Ensure timely dictation and signing of all studies and clinical notes.
  • Engage in direct communication with ordering providers on critical findings.
  • Participate in peer review activities and attend clinical conferences.
  • Equitable night call and weekend backup duties may be assigned.
  • Possibility to teach, supervise, and evaluate radiology residents and medical students.
