Job Title: QC Laboratory Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced QC Laboratory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a quality control laboratory in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards while managing laboratory personnel and processes. This role requires a strong background in chemistry and quality control, with an emphasis on ISO 9001 and 17025 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the QC laboratory, including testing, record-keeping, staff supervision, and budgeting.
  • Enforce safety and environmental policies for laboratory operations and personnel.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and training for laboratory technicians.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to support internal and external customers.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and 17025 requirements and ensure lab compliance.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and in good working condition; recommend new equipment and methodologies as needed.
  • Review and maintain testing methods, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to optimize production processes.
  • Coordinate testing activities with external laboratories.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of QC laboratory experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry, chemical reactions, and laboratory processes.
  • Hands-on experience with gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 17025 standards; knowledge of ISO 14001 is a plus.
  • Experience in instrumentation maintenance and calibration.
  • Proven track record of implementing new test methods.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and ERP software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Understanding of analyst training programs and continuous process improvement strategies.
