- Interpretation and understanding of shop drawings to determine if a part is made to print. Examples are: - Weld symbols - Geometric dimensioning and tolerance symbols - Print legend and notation - The ability to use measuring instruments to verify whether or not a product is conforming to shop drawings. Examples include: Micrometer, Caliper, Jo blocks, Pin gage, Tape measure, Dial indicator - Manual Dexterity. - Must be able to distinguish color in this position and the ability to read small print and distinguish fine details. - Reading skills to read and understand instructions, plans, or purchase orders. - Good communication skills enabling verbal and written communication using active listening and learning. - Tasks include but are not limited to: - Process Production reject tags, issuing a Quality Hold - Issue Quality Hold for all nonconforming material and calculate a defect rate. - Investigate all out of process activity for the presence of nonconforming material - Review all process routers or process check sheet for completeness in order to issue a ready to ship tag. - Issue Quality Alerts for short term attention to a quality related issue using PowerPoint - Inspect incoming material (per inspection plan) - Audit defined processes for adherence to the process
- Basic blueprint reading skills and welding symbols. - Basic arithmetic skills; add, subtract, multiply, and divide both fractions and decimal numbers. - Must have ability to use appropriate tools related to the task. - The ability to use basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IQMS and Outlook. (preferred) - Prior manufacturing experience, with some aspect of Quality inspection (preferred). - Prior experience in metal fabrication a plus or welding/layout experience (preferred).
