Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Starting Wage: $23.40/hour + $1.00 Shift Differential for Night Shift
Hours: Day-6:45am-7pm; Night-6:45pm-7am (3-4/12 hr schedule and EO Saturday)
5-6 Month Contract to Hire
Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance Technician plays a key role in ensuring that all materials, processes, and final products meet established quality standards. This position supports the implementation and maintenance of quality systems and ensures products meet customer specifications for moisture, weight, color, and dimensions. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are essential in ensuring the safety, quality, and productivity of the operation.
Essential Functions:
- Work in teams to monitor processes within an assigned area, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collect and analyze sample data to confirm product conformance and maintain process control.
- Monitor product specifications, ensuring proper moisture, weight, color, and dimensions are met.
- Assist in identifying non-conformance issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Oversee sanitation requirements during production and provide guidance to production employees.
- Initiate and document food safety and quality hold procedures as needed.
- Conduct regular audits on plant safety and security, reporting any non-conformance.
- Act as the auditor and verifier for daily quality tasks throughout production.
- Ensure GMP compliance by monitoring and reporting violations.
- Participate in sensory panels to evaluate product quality.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in a food processing facility or quality-related role is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong attention to detail, and ability to communicate instructions in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage time effectively.
- Must be adaptable, organized, and capable of following established SOPs.
- Willingness to learn and apply company safety standards, GMPs, SOPs, and more.
- Must be flexible with work schedules, including weekends, overtime, and some holidays.
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
- Requires standing, repetitive movements, bending, and twisting during most of the shift.
- Exposure to sustained noise levels, hot temperatures, and potential hazards such as machinery and slippery floors.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours) and perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Must be able to work in environments containing allergens, such as nuts, dairy, and grains.
- Available to work 12-hour shifts and alternate Saturdays, with potential overtime.
Other Duties as Assigned:
Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and every other Saturday.
