Description

QC Scientist I
Pharmaceutical company seeking Quality Control Scientist I to join the team in San Antonio, TX.  This position will be responsible for performing chemical and physical tests required for quality control provided testing and evaluation of results on products and processes.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes samples using the methods in the laboratory, performs calculations and data analysis, and provides appropriate and compliant documentation for review and release of products.
  • Continue training on analytical methods to achieve proficiency in testing any and all products for commercial release and stability programs.
  • Assists in the basic operations of the laboratory in support of the essential analytical testing.
  • Basic trouble shooting for instruments and methods to meet sample testing requirements.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Job Requirements:
  •  Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university in a scientific field combined with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in QC testing.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical instructions including methods of analysis documents, SOPs and certificate of analysis. The ability to provide documentation, data and results in the appropriate format as trained. Ability to proficiently communicate to management on the tasks undertaken and completed.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts routinely used in the data analysis of test results, including concepts such as percentages, averages, standard deviations and basic statistics. Ability to follow mathematical formulas with variables and standard mathematical operations in the calculation of results in the testing methods. Ability to create spreadsheets for analytical data analysis as assigned so that the spreadsheet can be validated and used for testing.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to operate a Windows based computer, use word processing software, and input data into spreadsheets (MS Office Suite). The ability to run chromatography software (Empower and Chromeleon, etc.) from existing methods in the computer used for data collection and analysis.
