 Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an Lab Technician near Bedford Park, IL.

 

Temp to Hire 

Shift: 4 days out of the week on 1st shift (6am-4:30pm)

Compensation: $20-22/hr 

 

Job Description: Primary Function Support the Laboratories by performing analytical tests independently and accurately. Meet the needs of internal and external customers in a safe and timely manner on process and product quality.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform analytical tests independently and accurately as written in test procedures.
  • Perform a variety of tasks/procedures in a fast- paced environment; maintain accurate and complete record of data.
  • Prioritize testing based on business needs and ensure testing is performed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Collect samples of finished products.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and legible test records, in accordance with Company policy and record keeping procedure.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and quality systems established.
  • Develop a working knowledge of product and customers specifications.
  • Disposition product against established specifications.
  • Perform other work as assigned by laboratory management.
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment, including routine maintenance and resolution of common or simple problems with instruments.
  • Communicate technical data to technical and non-technical people, both verbal and written.

 

Qualifications:

  • Perform analytical tests independently and accurately as written in test procedures
  • Test samples are to be gathered and tested within expected time frame and stored as required.
  • Collect samples of incoming supplies, in-process samples, and finished products.
  • Perform non-routine procedures independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and legible test records, in accordance with Company policy and record keeping procedure.
  • Follow all safety and quality guidelines according to Good Laboratory Practices and lab safety requirements.
  • Keep work area clean and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other work as assigned by laboratory management.
  • Provide support by maintaining a communication log and transfer information to lab personnel to continue supporting operations needs to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining the validated state of the lab.
  • Assist in the maintenance of equipment, including routine maintenance and resolution of common or simple problems with instruments.
  • Work as part of a technical group in a multi-cultural and diverse work environment to accomplish a common goal.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry or related sciences.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be available for some weekend and after hour coverage.
  • Basic computer skills.
