Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a QA Manager in Chicago (Cicero), IL.

Direct Hire
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year DOE, plus bonus and benefits.

About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that our plant and production area meets USDA regulations and complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role requires a self-starter with strong leadership experience and professional ethics to manage legal compliance and customer expectations. You must be a certified SQF Practitioner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement training for facility personnel to ensure product legality and safety.
  • Handle customer service activities including order management and complaint resolution.
  • Implement incoming material inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure continuous compliance with SQF code requirements.
  • Schedule and conduct Food Safety and HACCP meetings and conferences.
  • Assist in formulating company policies, SOPs and objectives.
  • Act as Substitute SQF Practitioner and HACCP Coordinator as needed.
  • Maintain QA procedures, policies, and design-related training.
  • Supervise QA team members and manage pest control activities.
  • Train employees on GMP's, HACCP, MSDS & Allergen controls.
  • Oversee QA Micro program and liaise with outside labs.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance and certification audits.
  • Evaluate productivity, set metrics, and facilitate career planning for team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in QA management within the food industry.
  • Experience with poultry and meat handling.
  • R & D experience required.
  • Proven ability to think independently, handle multiple projects, and influence senior management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English with proficient business office software skills.
  • Ability to present to diverse groups and manage budgets effectively.
