Full time contract to direct opportunity near the Bay City area for a Program Manager. This is a mid level position; 3-5 years of experience
90,000k - 100,000k
Automotive knowledge is required along with Bachelor's degree in Engineering.


The Program Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the program team and the staff of all support groups in setting and achieving program objectives for timing, cost, manufacturability, quality, localization, and customer satisfaction for the development and launch of new automotive products. (Programs are typically in Production or supporting small changes for other platforms with similar design)
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform as the focal point for product development and launch for customer programs
  • Lead team activities, including: planning new program launch and/or Running Changes; creating project schedules with key milestones; defining each functional area's deliverables; communicating plans, schedules, and changes; Risk management, and generating consensus from the team
  • Ensure adherence to project plan and schedule by conducting team meetings, generating follow-up documents, managing open issues, facilitating team member's jobs and soliciting management support in overcoming problems
  • Budget, track and control all project costs in real time, ensuring that all chargeable costs are assigned to the customer and obtain management approval for all cost overruns
  • Conduct gate reviews
  • Run PDT's both Internal and with Customer
  • Writing and/or supporting Build Requests
  • Internal Purchase request forms(Memo's) 
  • Run weekly current Engineering meetings using internal toolset(Jira)

Education
  • Degree in engineering is required (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial)
  • Advanced degree (Masters/MBA) and/or certification is preferred (i.e. Six Sigma, PMP, etc.)

Experience
  • At least 3 years of Automotive Program Management experience or comparable experience in automotive industry

Skills and Competencies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of product development engineering practices in automotive field,
  • General knowledge of project monitoring and control techniques
  • Proficient in use of All Microsoft Office Toolsets(Project, Power Point, Excel, Word)
  • Understanding/use of Program Management Toolsets
