Kelly Services is looking for a Production Technician for temp-to-hire role with one of our biggest clients in Norristown, PA! 

Shift: M-F 12pm-8pm

JOB PURPOSE:
This role supports the goals of the Factory department, under the direction of the manufacturing manager, by completing daily tasks based on production numbers. JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow proper safety procedures for all Factory functions and adhere to safety standards throughout the plant
  • Comply with department SOPs and best practices for efficiency
  • Complete daily work orders as assigned
  • Watch for quality issues i.e. if material or orders look incorrect, or otherwise out of specification, report concerns to your supervisor
  • Work as a team to find ways to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Maintain a clean, safe, effective, and organized work area
  • Assist other departments within the plant as reasonably requested by the Manufacturing Manager
  • Accurately read labels, worksheets, and work orders
  • Correctly label product using batch system and Zebra printer
  • Complete paperwork accurately and retain samples for QC
  • Convert units and scale values with a calculator
  • Safely change raw material drums and totes with equipment
  • Operate scales for measuring product, including tare out weights, change units of measure, and identify problematic behavior
  • Learn and safely operate the manual and electric pallet jack, scissor lift, drum life, etc.
  • Operate Hobart and industrial sized mixers independently
  • Operate industrial sized press, including preparing gasket, raising and lowering bowl, adjusting flow rate, and cleaning
  • Prepare and calculate raw materials for making base (i.e. Silanol %)
  • Compare batches with the reference to identify discrepancies
  • Observe wear and tear on the equipment and alert the lead/manager
  • Operate Titan mixer with oversight; load the mix bowl into the Titan and press, ensuring all external connections are made and disconnected/stored when changing bowls

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships
  • Communicate clearly and concisely
  • Prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced environment, perform well under pressure, and be flexible to changing business needs
  • Basic math skills – accuracy and attention to detail are essential, must be comfortable making unit conversions with a calculator
  • Certifications in warehouse/material handling equipment, specifically reach truck, electric jack, and scissor lift preferred
  • Demonstrate a sense of pride and ownership, work independently
  • Must be able to comprehend and accurately follow basic instructions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Lift up to 55 lbs. to shoulder height
  • Move and lift up to 100 lbs. utilizing factory equipment
  • Must be able to perform activities that include climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, crawling, handling, feeling, and seeing
  • Must be able to stand and walk for entire shift
  • Work environment includes slippery surfaces, noise or vibrations, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, fumes or odors
