Description
Job Purpose: The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating production activities to ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing resources, inventory, and production capacity. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, and inventory requirements.
- Review customer orders and forecasts to determine material, labor, and equipment needs.
- Generate and release work orders using ERP/MRP systems.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet changing priorities or resolve bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with purchasing, warehouse, and manufacturing teams to ensure material availability.
- Analyze inventory levels, monitor stock, and initiate replenishment actions when necessary.
- Communicate proactively with cross-functional teams to resolve schedule-related issues.
- Track and report production performance metrics, including yield, cycle times, and on-time delivery.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, process efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Maintain documentation for production schedules, reports, and work order status.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in production planning or supply chain management (preferred).
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and manage multiple priorities.
