Overview:
Are you a technically-savvy engineer ready to tackle exciting challenges and provide innovative solutions for a busy packaging plant? We are seeking a dynamic Production Engineer. This role is designed for those who thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about improving safety, quality, and efficiency. You'll work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to explore new solutions and address critical business needs.

Scope of the Role:
Day-to-Day Operations:

  • Review and analyze production data to address urgent business needs promptly.
  • Engage in general troubleshooting, vendor communications, and providing Gemba support.
  • Track line efficiency using Pareto charts, DT, and data tracking software.
  • Monitor changes to ensure impact and ROI are realized.
Lean Six Sigma (Zero Loss Mentality):
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects.
  • Utilize DMAIC problem-solving approaches.
  • Provide training as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the latest packaging equipment and technology.
Compliance and Support:
  • Support operations to meet compliance, OSHA, Environmental, Safety, cGMP, and other corporate/site quality requirements.
Capital Projects:
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, economic justifications, and capital appropriation requests.
  • Offer engineering support for equipment installations and process improvements, including URS, FAT, IQ, OQ, PQ, and vertical start-ups.
  • Manage projects by directing allied support groups, interfacing with multiple departments, and working with consultants and contractors.
Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering Management).
  • Thorough understanding of engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding drawings, flowcharts, and schematics related to system designs.
  • Strong understanding of lean principles and six sigma processes, with hands-on experience in continuous improvement techniques.
