Procurement Lead Temp to Hire

The Procurement Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing all aspects of the procurement process, including vendor management, contract negotiation, cost control, and supply chain efficiency. This role requires a strategic, analytical thinker with strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of supply chain operations and market trends.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, service levels, and delivery.

Contract Negotiation

  • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing structures, and delivery schedules.

  • Ensure all contracts are compliant with company policies and applicable legal requirements.

Cost Management

  • Monitor procurement spend and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Implement strategies that drive efficiencies without compromising on quality or service.

Supply Chain Optimization

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain performance, reduce lead times, and ensure continuity of supply.

Risk Management

  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks across supplier relationships, contracts, and market conditions.

Strategic Procurement Planning

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business goals and operational needs.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.

  • Generate and present reports on procurement performance, metrics, and strategic initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support health, safety, and environmental compliance.

  • Maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in procurement or supply chain management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and contract management expertise.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with procurement systems and tools (e.g., ERP platforms).

  • Solid understanding of market trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain.

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
