Press Operator – 2nd Shift

North Syracuse, NY

Monday–Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM

Pay Range: $20.00 - $22 per hour DOE!

Job Overview

The Press Operator is responsible for printing high-quality labels for customers while maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting flexographic printing press equipment. This position plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate press and printing equipment as directed by supervisor or cell leader.

  • Maintain accurate and timely production and quality records.

  • Monitor press output and visually inspect labels for defects and quality issues.

  • Load and unload paper rolls, mount and shaft rolls, and maintain correct ink levels, colors, and chemistry.

  • Make necessary adjustments to ensure proper registration and strict quality performance.

  • Clean press components, replace tooling and gears, lubricate press stations, and perform routine maintenance.

  • Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean and orderly.

  • Follow all safety, sanitation, and product safety procedures and policies.

  • Operate all press functions and features.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of flexographic printing press experience required.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of machines, tools, and computer-controlled systems.

  • Ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.

  • Understanding of basic mathematical applications (measurements, logic, etc.).

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse teams.

  • Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical abilities.

  • Ability to lift 50–60 pounds and push/roll 300–800 pounds using a pallet jack.

  • Good manual dexterity for equipment adjustments and operation.

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform reaching, twisting, bending, and stretching as needed.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception.

  • Ability to accurately distinguish colors.

    Requirements:

  • Pass pre-employment screening, including drug testing.
