The Internal Field Service Representative will be responsible for conducting control system IO checks, verifying control system functionality, and performing system checkouts during pre-commissioning and commissioning of a Water Treatment Plant in Odessa, TX. The role involves supporting operations and post-commissioning warranty processes. Performance will be evaluated upon the completion of commissioning.
Essential Responsibilities:- Act as a liaison between design engineering and the commissioning team during the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of Water Treatment Plants.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customer representatives on installation, operation, and maintenance (recovery) during commissioning and operations.
- Oversee activities of external vendors and suppliers to ensure control systems meet project specifications and performance requirements.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Checkout Sheets to document equipment checkout, installation, and initial operations.
- Develop and execute installation, assembly, and storage plans for Control Panels and other Control System components.
- Perform control system inspections on electromechanical and rotating equipment with client-designated representatives.
- Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure work aligns with our client's safety standards and technical requirements.
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future reference.
- Address alignment issues and make necessary adjustments (e.g., plumb adjustments, geometry, and chemistry formulas).
- Lead or assist customers with electrical/instrumentation requirements (space, labor, tools, disposal of test water, etc.) to support commissioning and operational/startup activities.
- Participate in Customer Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and related Control Systems reviews.
- Provide on-site programming support for Water Treatment Control Systems and assist with electrical installation and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Automation and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) leaders to ensure effective project execution and continuous improvement.

- Occasionally walk and climb/balance.
- Must occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The work environment may include moderate noise levels, with potential exposure to loud noise on-site.
- Site assignments may involve working in foreign countries or remote locations, often with accommodations at work camps.
- Many water treatment facilities are outdoors, requiring work in various weather conditions.
- Education: College Diploma in a related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Water Treatment Technology) or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in Water Treatment or 10 years in Control System Development and/or Commissioning.
- Strong focus on maintaining positive customer relationships (both internal and external).
- Ability to work independently and as part of remote project teams.
- Basic water treatment chemistry knowledge.
- Electrical experience, including hands-on work with electrical panels, junction boxes, cabling, and grounding.
- Familiarity with the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation used in water treatment processes.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation systems (Smart MCC, VFD, ControlLogix PLC Platform, FactoryTalk SE, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to relocate to Odessa, TX.
- Experience in commissioning, construction, or services.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
- Oil and Gas industry experience.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to adapt to new challenges, clients, and situations.
- Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures preferred.
