Job Title: Biologist - Plant Molecular Biologist
Location: Saint Louis, MO (Hybrid)
*** Will consider remote for out of town candidates who fulfill all requirements. Must be willing to travel to St. Louis periodically for team meetings.
Job Type: contract assignment, long-term
Schedule: First Shift, Full-time hours

This individual will not be working in a laboratory, but must have previous lab experience. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in early stages of plant biotechnology, for example transgenics and gene editing.

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Plant Molecular Biologist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing our plant biotech product development portfolio and pipeline through their expertise in plant molecular biology.

Duties:
- Design vector constructs for gene editing and transgene expression in plants.
- Execute data pipelines for plant transgenesis, genome editing, and DNA/RNA/protein analytics using state-of-the-art molecular biology and genomics technologies.
- Perform data analyses, harmonization, visualization, and methodology benchmarking in collaboration with internal and external partners.
- Optimize expression of recombinant proteins in bacterial cells or other expression systems.
- Develop and validate protein diagnostic methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, enzyme assays, and quantitative mass spectrometry.

Qualifications:
- BS/MS or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, or related field.
- Strong research experience in molecular biology required, background in plant biology preferred.
- Expertise in vector construct design, gene editing, and transgene expression preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and methodologies, with experience in NextGen sequencing and spatial genomics.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
