Work Hours:

  • First shift runs from 5:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday
  • Occasional Friday shifts may be needed when operations demand
Pay: $20/hr +
Overview:
This dual-role position plays a key part in preparing and loading materials for distribution, and in painting items as specified. You'll help make sure items are properly tracked, securely packed, and finished to meet required standards, all while adhering to safety protocols.
Main Duties:
Material Loading:
  • Reference the Pieces Not Shipped log to determine which items need to be loaded.
  • Note each item on the log as it is placed for shipment.
  • Prepare materials for transportation by banding, boxing, and applying shrink wrap as necessary for protection and efficient handling.
  • Measure, cut, and organize 4 x 4 wood blocks used for support and stacking.
  • Safely fill trailers—never exceeding 45,000 pounds—using cranes and lifting tools to maintain safety for product and operator alike.
  • After loading, hand over the updated shipment log—signed—to the plant manager.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the plant management team to support customer requirements.
Painting Tasks:
  • Move and arrange items for painting with cranes, mechanical devices, or safe manual handling.
  • Clearly label each piece with the correct paint codes, indicating areas where paint should be excluded.
  • Ensure surfaces are dirt-free by sweeping or using compressed air.
  • Confirm the correct paint hues and types in sprayers, and adjust as necessary.
  • Apply paint using spraying equipment and hands-on methods.
  • Rotate items to ensure full coverage, either manually or with crane assistance.
  • Organize painted items in the designated area pending shipment.
  • Use of Elcometer gauge to check paint depth and record findings in the thickness log.
Skills & Requirements:
  • Skilled in safely operating overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Complete a tape measure test.
  • Detail-oriented and focused on achieving quality outcomes.
  • Capable of following instructions, both written and spoken.
  • Physically fit to handle manual tasks such as lifting and stacking.
  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is a plus.
Additional Information:
Other responsibilities may arise at plant management's discretion to best serve customer needs and ensure a smooth workflow.
