Operations Representative

Pay Rate: $23–$25/hr 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Location: On-site – Torrington, CT

About the Role

A growing industrial supply and ecommerce operation is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Operations Clerk / Ecommerce Content Operations Representative. This in-office role blends customer order processing, ecommerce content maintenance, and light sales engagement. The ideal candidate is comfortable on the phone, confident using computers, and able to manage product data with accuracy.

The position involves receiving and confirming online customer orders, ensuring product information is accurate across systems, and providing exceptional service—including upselling when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive online customer orders and call customers to confirm order accuracy and details.

  • Provide excellent phone-based customer service, including suggesting additional items to upsell when appropriate.

  • Answer incoming calls and perform customer follow-ups to provide updates or confirm satisfaction.

  • Maintain and update product listings, pricing, images, and descriptions in BigCommerce.

  • Verify product details, availability, and lead times with vendors, warehouse teams, and converting teams.

  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of product data across Fishbowl Inventory, QuickBooks Desktop, and BigCommerce.

  • Assist with light marketing or promotional content updates to maintain online consistency.

  • Perform general operational tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and data accuracy skills.

  • Good phone presence and professional communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Solid computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams/SharePoint, and Word.

  • Experience with ecommerce platforms; BigCommerce experience preferred.

  • Ability to multitask, follow instructions, and maintain consistency across systems.

Preferred Experience
  • Background in ecommerce operations, product administration, customer service, or industrial/B2B distribution.

  • Familiarity with Fishbowl Inventory and QuickBooks Desktop.
