Job Title: Merchandising Representative I

Location: Windsor Locks, CT

Start Date: ASAP

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $26.50/hour

Work Schedule:

  • 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Overview

As a Merchandising Representative I, you will support the Merchandising team by assisting with pricing execution, billing accuracy, cost changes, customer support, and data integrity. This role supports a large wholesale grocery distribution operation serving independent retailers and operates in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate customer contracts by monitoring outbound costs and ensuring accurate, competitive pricing.

  • Work with manufacturing and vendor partners to maintain up-to-date pricing, regional brackets, and customer-specific exceptions.

  • Coordinate and process future cost increases and decreases, including deals, off-invoice allowances, and customized pricing.

  • Monitor weekly billings, including flyer activity, bottle deposits, promotional deals, and gross profit-related billings.

  • Identify and communicate item or vendor setup issues; monitor attributes and system flags to maintain high data quality and order accuracy.

  • Communicate with customers on a daily basis regarding pricing, item setup, and contract-related questions.

  • Oversee tracking spreadsheets used to monitor new item progress and pricing updates.

  • Review cost comparison and sales reports to identify pricing variances, credits owed, or rebills required.

  • Support at least one Merchandiser with weekly tasks related to gross profit tracking and merchandising/marketing planning.

  • Office environment

  • Temperature-controlled setting (approximately 65°F–75°F)

  • No travel required

Skills & Qualifications
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills

Experience & Education
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience preferred

  • High School Diploma or GED required
