This role is essential in supporting production demands and ensuring rigorous mechanical testing standards are met. Position Title: Mechanical Testing Technician
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Location: Warsaw, Indiana

Professional Summary:
The Mechanical Testing Technician provides skilled technical support within a biomechanical testing laboratory, focusing on mechanical and functional testing of orthopedic implants and instruments. This role involves conducting tests to evaluate product performance, including fatigue, endurance, tensile, corrosion, and load-to-failure testing. The technician will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data analysis, documentation, and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical and functional testing on orthopedic implants and instruments, including fatigue, endurance, tensile, static, corrosion, and load-to-failure assessments.
- Prepare test specimens and conduct laboratory experiments according to provided protocols (Instron, MTS).
- Analyze testing data and apply statistical methods to interpret results.
- Author and maintain test protocols, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain laboratory records in adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
- Communicate testing outcomes, challenges, and proposed solutions professionally to team members and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product design, verification, risk assessment, and supplier changes.
- Enter and manage testing data in spreadsheets and databases with attention to detail.
- Stay informed on industry regulations and safety standards to ensure compliance.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- 0-2 years of related experience (Medical Device industry experience preferred but not required).
