Mechanical Testing Lab Specialist
Kelly Services is currently seeking a Mechanical Testing Lab Specialist for one of our top clients in Raynham, MA.
JOB SUMMARY
- Provides skilled technical assistance in a biomechanical testing laboratory.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specialist s will perform mechanical and functional testing under supervision to assess functional requirements of implants and instruments.
- Testing will support design characterization, verification, risk assessment and supplier changes of orthopedic implants and instrumentation.
- This includes communication with multiple disciplines, knowledge of mechanical testing apparatus/methodology, and data reporting.
- Perform mechanical testing such as fatigue, endurance, static testing, tensile testing, corrosion testing, and load to failure.
- Prepares test specimens and performs laboratory experiments per provided protocols Instron, MTS.
- Analyze data and using statistical analysis.
- Authors test protocols and test reports; documents test results and procedures.
- Maintains laboratory records.
- Ensures adherence to all company safety policies and procedures and other safety precautions within the work area.
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
- Clearly and professionally communicate test findings, technical challenges, and proposed resolutions to R T members.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- 2-4 years of related experience and a Bachelor s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Experience in the Medical Device industry is preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS
- Hands-on experience with laboratory experiments per provided protocols Instron, MTS
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with policies and procedures
- Ability to enter data on spread sheet and database applications
- Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with diverse team members
- Skills required include verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, task management, problem solving, and mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with material manufacturing processes; material mechanical, physical, and chemical testing; and material characterization is preferred
