Description

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Upper Saddle River, NJ
Duration: 6 months with possible extensions.
Shift Schedule: 9-80 Schedule – 1st Shift
Pay Rate: $48-$50/HR

Position Summary:

  • As a Mechanical Engineer in the Defense and Aerospace industry, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and components for various defense and aerospace applications.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, functionality, and reliability of mechanical systems while adhering to industry regulations and standards.
  • Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge technologies and solutions that drive the defense and aerospace sectors forward.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Create innovative and efficient mechanical designs for defense and aerospace systems, including components, subsystems, and overall systems, using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.
  • System Integration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, structural engineers, and systems engineers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into larger defense and aerospace platforms.
  • Performance Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analysis and simulations to assess mechanical system performance, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, fluid dynamics, and vibration analysis.
  • Testing and Validation: Plan and execute tests to evaluate the functionality, reliability, and durability of mechanical components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and specifications for defense and aerospace applications. Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the production process, including resolving design-related issues, reviewing manufacturing processes, and optimizing designs for cost-effective production.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in defense and aerospace technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods. Explore and propose innovative solutions to improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to define project requirements, milestones, and deliverables. Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of mechanical engineering tasks.

Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the defense or aerospace industry. Knowledge of defense and aerospace regulations, standards, and systems is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or AutoCAD) and other engineering analysis tools. Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Analytical Abilities: Ability to conduct thorough analysis, simulations, and evaluations of mechanical systems using appropriate engineering tools and techniques.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Aptitude for identifying and resolving complex mechanical engineering problems, with a focus on practical and efficient solutions.
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to design, documentation, and testing processes, ensuring accuracy and precision in all engineering tasks.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and project requirements.
