Mechanical Engineer III
Delano, MN – Onsite – local candidates only

$90,000-$110,000

Position Summary:
Kelly Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our client in Delano, MN. This role demands independent design, development, testing, and improvement of mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will have a robust engineering background and problem-solving capabilities, paired with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams to drive product development and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components using advanced CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, CREO, and AutoCAD inventors.
  • Conduct comprehensive engineering analyses, including CFD, FEA, thermal, stress, and tolerance analysis.
  • Lead complex engineering projects with minimal supervision and ensure timely delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and specifications.
  • Evaluate materials and processes to achieve cost, performance, and durability targets.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure high product integrity.
  • Support testing and validation of prototypes and final products.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues in development and production environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers and review their design work for quality and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as ASME, ISO, and UL.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related degree.
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software and simulation tools.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, including CNC machining, injection molding, and 3D printing.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and drafting standards.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and leading technical teams is a plus.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections throughout the production or manufacturing process, including in-process and final inspections.
  • Maintain documentation of all inspections and potential issues.
  • Assist with problem resolution and suggest process improvements.
