Our client is an engineered to order fluid system manufacturer in Syracuse, NY seeking an experienced Designer to lead the design process for major buyout equipment projects for our customer base. Their organization has a strong reputation within the Global markets it operates for responsiveness, technical ability and customer service.
The Designer will help us build on our great reputation by developing and owning the design of systems and sub-systems for specified projects.
The daily responsibilities of the Mechanical Designer include:
- Working with the engineering team in a positive, can-do manner to develop designs of fluid systems.
- Reading customer specifications, extracting requirements, and ensuring they are incorporated into the final design.
- Collaborating with the Project Engineer to plan the order of drawing development and releases in consideration of project schedules.
- Performing calculations to ensure design integrity, related to sizing, mechanical strengths, flows, temperatures and pressures.
- Developing drawings for customer design reviews and the production floor during manufacturing.
- Continually increase his or her knowledge of customer requirements for future projects.
- Maintaining a regular communication with Project Engineers regarding drawing status.
The successful candidate will have a degree in an engineering discipline with demonstrated success producing mechanical drawings for customer and production teams. A strong knowledge of 3D modeling software( Inventor preferred but not required), a working knowledge of industrial liquid and gas components and products, and a methodical approach to ensuring requirements are reflected in designs is required. Experience in electrical drawing development and FEA is a plus.
