Description

Material Handling Supervisor
Direct Hire- Stanton, TN (Relocation Provided)


Key Areas of Responsibility: 

  • Responsible for the daily material handling functions for the facility and for the department including but not limited to: 
  • Ensuring proper material flow from receiving dock to warehouse location to the production line feed location and to the delivery of finished product to the customers 
  • Provide direction and support in the allocation of resources appropriately in order to cover material handling responsibilities 
  • Support operating system and synchronous material flow lean manufacturing practices 
  • Assure all safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, environment, production throughput, budgets, practices, objectives, and continuous improvements are achieved 
  • Define and coach team through leveraging standardized work 
  • Lead and manage hourly personnel 
  • Provide communication and recognition 
  • Build hourly Team Leader and Team Member capacity 
  • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks 
  • Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution 
  • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents 

Minimum Requirements: 
  • Experience in the following areas (1-5 years): 
  • Material Planning and Logistics experience desired 
  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly and salaried personnel, logistics carriers, and production suppliers. 
  • Experience in effectively leading / supervising a team. 
  • Proficient in computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, etc.) 
  • Experience in Common Manufacturing Management System (CMMS) or similar ERP 
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision 
  • React well under pressure and be able to work under crisis management 
  • Strong analytical skills, quick decision-making capability and curiosity 
  • Candidate must be flexible to significant travel during initial plant start-up phase 
  • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership behaviors consisting of outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills 

Preferred Requirements: 
  • Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics, Material Planning and Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
