6 Month Contract (Potential to go permanent)

 

Job Description:

New Product Transfer

  • Function as the Voice of Operations in NPI Projects, including Product Transfer into Manufacturing and Quality Operations. Ensure that requirements for Design for Manufacturability, Quality, Reliability, Safety, Serviceability, Cost, and overall Robustness are heard and incorporated during the Design and Development progression. Participate in all Design and Process FMEA exercises during Design, Development, and Product Transfer. Ensure that Technical Risk is illuminated and ultimately removed or adequately mitigated prior to Product Launch.

Manufacturing Support

  • Create preventive and corrective maintenance routines for the different manufacturing equipment; scheduling annual preventive maintenance based on cycles and MTBF; implementing a calibration system for critical manufacturing equipment; implementing and improving automated equipment for manufacturing; analyzing process cycle time, waste and customer demand to determine if process requires automation.
  • Support Operations to drive performance to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity. Be an active participant in Daily Management activities within Operations; assist with, participate in and contribute to triage and troubleshooting activities on the manufacturing floor to improve productivity and First Pass Yield, and reduce defective parts per unit built.

Process Validation and Sustaining Engineering

  • Author and execute validation protocols for the implementation of new products and processes; validation of upgrade components for existing product lines; validation of new equipment and process, Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, Performance Qualification and Engineering Studies; documenting manufacturing activities and procedures.
  • Assist Supply Chain personnel in finding alternative suppliers and alternative parts in order to either (a) reduce risk in Single and Sole Source situations, or (b) to remove the risk associated with part and/or supplier obsolescence; Validate/Qualify the new suppliers and/or parts.

 

What will convince us:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree required in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience performing bioanalytical instrumentation and consumables manufacturing as well as manufacturing transfer/new product introduction (NPI) in a Manufacturing Product Engineering role
  • Six Sigma Improvement Methodologies & Design for Six Sigma Tools preferred
  • Experience performing Lean Manufacturing Methods & Tools; process efficiency & yield improvements
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Strong presentation skills
