MFG Test Operators L1

SUMMARY OF JOB
The MGF Test Operator LI is responsible for safely performing electrical and functional testing on production units, including high-voltage (120VAC / 480VAC) and low-voltage (24VDC) systems. This role ensures all products meet Jabil's quality, reliability, and safety standards through consistent test execution, verification, and accurate documentation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree in a technical field, a recognized technical certification, or completion of formal technical training is strongly preferred. One year of experience in a Jabil Tester position - or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on experience - is acceptable. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required job-related certifications.

Monday to Thursday
1st Shift:    6:30 am to 4:00 pm        
2nd Shift    2:30 pm to 12:00 am 
3rd Shift   10:30 pm to 8:00 am

Friday to Sunday 
4th Shift     6:00 am to 6:30 pm
5th Shift     6:00 pm to 6:30am

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Set up and operate all required test equipment to perform programming, verification, and electrical testing per established procedures, including:
  • 120VAC and 480VAC power-up testing
  • 24VDC control power validation
  • Hipot / dielectric withstand testing
  • Leak testing, pre-air testing, and vacuum testing
  • Megger insulation resistance testing
  • Hardware programming and firmware loading
  • Verify all test equipment is properly calibrated before use; report any out-of-calibration or expired tools immediately.
  • Set up and operate all required test equipment to perform programming, verification, and electrical testing per established procedures, including:
  • Execute safety-critical tests with strict adherence to instructions to ensure units are free from electrical defects, leaks, pressure hazards, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD).
  • Operate automated and manual test stations, including functional test benches, power distribution racks, leak-test devices, and other diagnostic platforms.
  • Properly load and unload test fixtures, ensuring all high-voltage and low-voltage connections are applied and removed safely.
  • Use measurement instruments—digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, megger testers, leak detectors, etc.—to verify test results and support troubleshooting.
  • Maintain quality standards that meet or exceed Jabil Workmanship Standards, using CIQ systems when available to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support continuous production flow by meeting takt times, maintaining throughput, and escalating recurring failures or delays to supervision or diagnostic engineering.
  • Accurately identify the difference between test equipment issues and true product failures to ensure proper defect classification.
  • Properly label, tag, and barcode-scan units while maintaining complete and accurate test logs, travelers, and process control sheets before releasing units to the next stage.
  • Provide support to MFG Test Operator I, II, and III personnel as directed, including assistance with test setup, proper equipment handling, and execution of standardized testing techniques.
  • Safely handle high-voltage and pressurized systems to prevent injury or equipment damage.
  • Operate environmental stress screening (ESS) or burn-in equipment when required.
  • Maintain all required safety certifications, including laser safety certification where applicable.
  • Follow detailed technical test instructions with high attention to detail and adherence to standard work.
