Maintenance Planner (Kentwood, MI)

Join this team and help them achieve world-class asset reliability and maintenance performance!  Position is a Contract to Hire (Candidates not interested in permanent employment, this one is not for you).

What You'll Do:
The role focuses on planning, scheduling, and driving continuous improvement to achieve world-class reliability and maintenance performance in a dynamic environment.  Scope of the Role Includes: ensuring effective Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) implementation, capturing master data for assets and developing annual maintenance plans. 

Day to day, you'll: Innovate and Improve: Develop and execute systems that maximize maintenance efficiency and effectiveness. 
Lead and Collaborate: Work with diverse teams to implement robust systems for planning, scheduling, breakdown innovation, and regulatory compliance. 
Drive Excellence: Track and trend maintenance KPIs to drive sustainable process improvements and equipment reliability.
Manage Resources: Plan jobs; ensure tools and resources are available and maintain the CMMS. 
Optimize Workflow: Direct workflow, ensure SOPs and safety standards are followed, and address chronic issues. 
Support Projects: Assist with capital projects, validation, and quality concerns.
Lead GMP Implementation: Ensure effective implementation of GMP requirements. 
Be the Planning Master: Capture master data for all maintainable assets and develop annual maintenance plans. 
Schedule and Control: Coordinate various maintenance tasks based on the production schedule. 
Make Data-Driven Decisions: Analyze maintenance data to optimize planning and resources. Continuous Improvement: Enhance maintenance systems and workflows, run reports, and maintain records. 
Lead Cost Management: Track maintenance costs and drive cost reduction opportunities. Be a Training Leader: Administer CMMS training for the maintenance team and operations staff. 

Daily Responsibilities:
Develop and execute systems to maximize maintenance efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with diverse teams on planning, scheduling, breakdown innovation, and regulatory compliance.
Track and trend Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for process improvements and equipment reliability. 
Plan maintenance jobs, manage resources and tools, and maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Direct workflow, ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards, and address chronic issues. Assist with capital projects, validation processes, and quality concerns.
Coordinating maintenance tasks aligned with production schedules. 
Analyzing maintenance data for optimized planning and resource allocation. 
Enhancing maintenance systems, workflows, reporting, and record-keeping.
Tracking maintenance costs and identifying cost reduction opportunities. 
Administering CMMS training for maintenance and operations staff.

Qualifications:
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership ability with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. 
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and customer service skills. 
Consistency in Routines: Ability to maintain consistency in routines and processes. Educational Background: High school diploma or GED required; recognized trade by the Department of Labor preferred. 
Experience: 3 years in Maintenance Planning using CMMS (preferably SAP), 3 years of leadership experience, and 5 years in maintenance/operations/manufacturing (Preferably FDA regulated/GMP environments).
