Kelly is currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join a long-term team with a leading company in Philadelphia, PA! How You Will Spend Your Time:

  • As a maintenance mechanic on first shift, you will be responsible for performing emergency repairs, preventative maintenance tasks and scheduled activities throughout the facility.
  • Utilizing your strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and correcting issues and emergencies throughout the facility.
  • Assisting the facility manager regarding contractor operations to ensure they meet IFF standards and expectations. You must be comfortable inspecting the work of the contractors and directing any improvements in services.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing processing machinery including distillation columns, pressurized reactors, mixing kettles, control systems, packaging equipment, physical structures, piping, and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Inspecting and operating boilers and compressed air equipment on a daily basis.
  • Adhering to all HACCP requirements including scheduled calibrations and protocols for releasing repaired equipment back to service (FSP-013 & FSP-014).
  • Effectively diagnosing and correcting equipment failures and malfunctions.
  • Dismantling defective machines and equipment for the purpose of installing new or repaired parts.
  • Installing and repairing electrical and plumbing equipment.
  • Using your broad knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and general facility repairs to maintain the building and grounds.

Job Requirements
  • As the maintenance mechanic, you should have a broad knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems and general building repairs.
  • Candidates must have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to react to issues and emergencies.
  • You should be comfortable inspecting the work of contractors and directing any improvements in services.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable.
  • A Philadelphia Class “A” or Class “D” Operating Engineer's license is a plus. NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator's License is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with written and verbal correspondence in English - read & comprehend.
  • Must have the ability to operate or learn to operate a computer and Windows based programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies must be followed. Steel toe work boots, safety glasses, hairnet and beard net are required at all times in the manufacturing areas.
  • Exposures to hot, cold, wet and/or humid environments is a common occurrence. Exposure to loud noise conditions is common and earplugs are expected to be worn in designated areas.
  • Must be available from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work Saturdays when workload requires is highly desirable.
  • Training in confined space entry, hot work, line breaking, LTCT, lift truck operation, Boiler Operator's License, OSHA 10 and/or formal emergency response is a plus.
  • Must have a minimum five years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing facility or chemical/food/pharmaceutical plant.
  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision and handle unexpected situations.
  • Must have experience with maintenance and repair duties including the adjustment and alignment of all types of pumps, fluid machinery, valves, pneumatic systems, steam systems, solid material processing and handling equipment, filling and packaging machinery.
  • Must have experience with basic welding, shop machinery, and portable power tools. TIG welding experience on stainless steel is a plus and is highly desirable.
  • High-school diploma or equivalent required.
