Job Posting: Maintenance Electrician
Location: Welland, ON
Starting Wage: $42.44 per hour

About the Role
We are seeking Maintenance Electricians to join our client, a world leader in the manufacture of steel abrasives an surface treatment tools and services located in Welland, ON.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and perform equipment installation, preventative maintenance, repair, and overhaul in accordance with work orders, provincial standards, OEM specifications, and Winoa work instructions.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out, working at heights, confined space entry, and wearing required PPE.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians – Mechanical and contractors during shutdowns or emergency work.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Coordinator, and Shift Supervisor.
  • Follow PM schedules and complete work orders in the CMMS (Carl).
  • Use, operate, and read specialized test equipment and create test reports.
  • Participate in housekeeping and Health & Safety programs.
  • Assist in the development of preventive maintenance programs for equipment.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Electrician License – 442A or 309A.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and provincial electrical codes.
  • Proactive attitude focused on improvement and problem-solving.
  • Basic computer skills for using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Safety and environmentally conscious.
  • Experience in foundry or primary metals industry (bonus).
  • Experience with material processing or handling system controls and field devices (bonus).
Physical and Additional Requirements:
  • Able to lift up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds).
  • Able to work in varying atmospheric conditions associated with the steel-making process.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work at heights, and operate mobile equipment.
  • Able to work rotating shifts (Day, Afternoon, and Night) and overtime as required.
