Description

Employment: Contract – 3 months  

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 5:00PM to 3:00AM 

Pay Rate: $27.27/hr 

Summary of responsibilities:  
 

The Machine Operator (Former Line / Angleboard) is responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating a production line to manufacture angleboard products according to customer specifications. Working in a team environment, this role ensures machine safety, product quality, efficiency, and waste control while maintaining accurate production documentation and a clean, organized work area. 

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Set up and adjust Former Line machine components based on work orders and customer specifications 

  • Operate the machine to produce angleboards that meet quality and production requirements 

  • Monitor machine operation, gauges, meters, and controls to ensure safe and consistent performance 

  • Respond quickly to equipment malfunctions and report issues to supervision as needed 

  • Perform routine quality checks using measuring tape, calipers, and gauges 

  • Complete production paperwork accurately, including waste, downtime, maintenance, and efficiency data 

  • Identify, document, and communicate product or process issues 

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 6S principles 

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

Must-haves:  

  • Ability to safely operate and monitor production machinery 

  • 6–12 months of related machine operation or manufacturing experience 

  • Experience using small hand tools and basic machine controls 

  • Ability to read and follow work orders and specifications 

  • Ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges) 

  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment 

  • Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toed boots 

 

Nice-to-Haves: 

  • High school diploma or GED 

  • Previous experience operating Former Line or similar production equipment 

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments 

  • Familiarity with 6S, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices 

  • Basic troubleshooting or mechanical aptitude
