Job Title: Machine Operator
Location: Goodyear, AZ 85338
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Job Summary:
The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating production equipment under immediate supervision in accordance with established procedures and guidelines. This role is crucial to maintaining productivity and ensuring product quality.
Major Responsibilities:
- Operate manual production machinery and equipment, including a wood molder machine, with potential training on sheet metal machinery.
- Read and interpret job orders, diagrams, and blueprints to select, position, and secure machinery and materials.
- Load, unload, lift, and move materials and products, utilizing lifting equipment when available.
- Complete and maintain all associated electronic processes and paperwork, including barcoding, checklists, stamping, blueprints, and shipping/receiving documents.
- Perform pre-shift preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Maintain departmental housekeeping and adhere to 5S standards.
Required Skills:
- Ability to stand and walk on concrete for up to 100% of the workday.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs independently and over 50 lbs with assistance.
- Proficient in using hands to reach, handle, and feel materials.
- Ability to visually inspect products for quality assurance.
- Manual dexterity for effective tool usage.
- Comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
- Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma preferred.
- Less than one year of experience in construction or manufacturing.
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Proficient in reading, speaking, and understanding English.
- Proven experience demonstrating safe and effective operation of required equipment.
