Job Title: Legal Assistant - Intellectual Property
Job Summary:

Job Specifications:

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Draft, update, and assemble intellectual property-related forms and legal documents for filing with the USPTO, WIPO, and other entities.
- Maintain systems for tracking key dates and keep relevant parties informed.
- Organize and maintain client files and cases professionally for easy access.
- Utilize firm systems, including document management, Adobe Acrobat, and Office 365, to create and maintain documents efficiently.
- Open new client matters, coordinate conflict checks, and close matters as directed.
- Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and format.
- Perform administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, composing correspondence, and maintaining calendars.
- Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and staff.
- Assist other legal assistants and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of two years of law firm experience; patent and trademark experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of English grammar and proofreading/editing skills.
- Knowledge of basic legal terminology or ability to learn quickly.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and professional.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and willing to enhance skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to excellent client service.
