POSITION SUMMARY: 

We are looking for an experienced Scientist with a specialization in mass spectrometry to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking projects in the fields of monoclonal antibodies, recombinant protein vaccines, and mRNA/LNP vaccines. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience or an MS with 10+ years of specialized experience in a scientific field relevant to bioseparation and analytical development. This role involves leading complex and demanding research projects, demonstrating exceptional analytical skills to develop release and characterization methods, and providing leadership in method development for various biotherapeutic and vaccine projects. The Scientist will be responsible for initiating, planning, directing, and executing scientific research, making significant contributions to project goals within set time and budget constraints, and publishing state-of-the-art work. This position offers the opportunity to influence "go/no go" decisions, recommend emerging technologies, and effectively present findings at internal meetings, requiring strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. 

 

TASKS. The contractor shall: 

  • Conduct and lead research projects in mass spectrometry, RP-HPLC, and LC-MS in the field of mAb, vaccine, and mRNA technology. 

  • Initiate, plan, direct, and execute scientific research and development with a focus on analytical method development. 

  • Analyze data, interpret results with scientific rigor, and make recommendations based on research findings. 

  • Organize and lead the analytical development group in supporting monoclonal antibody or vaccine project advancement. 

  • Develop and utilize bio-separation techniques such as electrophoresis and lab-on-chip separations. 

  • Communicate project findings, draw conclusions, and lead manuscript drafting for publication. 

  • Participate in internal meetings to present results and contribute to strategic decisions. 

  • Recommend outside technologies for advancement and integration into current projects. 

 

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: 

  • Ph.D. in a scientific field with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 10+ years of specialized experience in bioseparation or analytical development. 

  • Expertise in mass spectrometry and a deep understanding of the challenges in mAb, vaccine, and mRNA fields. 

  • Demonstrated experience in RP-HPLC and/or LC-MS, including method development for biotherapeutic and vaccine projects. 

  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage projects and teams effectively. 

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to work well in cross-functional teams. 

  • Familiarity with computer software for word processing, data evaluation, and project timeline management. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintaining accurate and detailed records.
