Lathe Manual Machinist – 3rd Shift
Location: West Monroe, LA
Pay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Note: Must be able to train on 1st shift
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position with full benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a variety of machine shop equipment including large, medium, and small lathes, mills, drills, and vertical lathes

• Perform precision machining for new manufacturing and the repair of paper machine rolls and other industrial components

• Set up machines and execute accurate machining practices on large equipment

• Produce close-tolerance work that meets company quality and safety standards

• Use overhead cranes to lift and move heavy materials safely

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

• Work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating reliability, strong attendance, and willingness to work overtime as needed

• Remain adaptable and open to learning new processes or machinery

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred (relevant experience may substitute)

• Proven experience as a manual machinist; background in paper mill roll repair or heavy industrial machining strongly preferred

• Skilled in machining setups, tooling selection, and operation of large-scale equipment

• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and follow detailed specifications

• Strong commitment to safety, precision, and quality workmanship

• Candidates with machining fundamentals and a strong willingness to learn will be considered for trainee opportunities
