Kelly Science has an Immediate opening for a Laboratory Sample Coordinator for our growing client in Indianapolis, IN
Full-time
Direct Hire
Pay: $19-$20/hr
Hours: 
8:30 am - 5:00 pm - Monday - Friday

As the Laboratory Sample Coordinator, you play a pivotal role in our testing process, serving as the initial point of contact for transformer oil samples. Responsible for the seamless flow of samples from reception to testing, you ensure accurate logging in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, and maintain an organized sample workflow. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you contribute to the efficiency of our laboratory operations by performing essential functions such as sample kit assembly and timely distribution.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Enter incoming oil sample orders into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  2. Process purchase orders for sample testing and shipping materials.
  3. Organize and maintain sample shelves to facilitate efficient sample tracking.
  4. Expedite the flow of samples into the lab for processing.
  5. Create and affix sample identifications on sample containers.
  6. Clean used sampling syringes, ensuring proper reassembly for future use.
  7. Assemble sampling kits and ship them to customers as requested.
  8. Distribute and shelve supplies as needed.
  9. Adhere to all company safety and security policies and procedures.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Laboratory Manager or technical team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, warehouse, shipping department, or similar work environment with administrative support responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Time management skills to handle time-sensitive tasks accurately in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritization, planning, attention to detail, and multitasking ability.
  • Proactive and self-starting with a focus on anticipating needs and taking initiative.
  • Ability to address routine issues promptly.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
