Role: Inventory Planner, Replenishment Specialist
Location: Elgin, IL - on-site 
Pay: up to $60,000
Duration: permanent direct hire 
Hours: Monday - Friday 8a - 5p
Position function for the Inventory Planning Specialist ; Supply Chain Planner:     This role will be responsible for placing orders with our suppliers based on inventory demand. They will then manage the inventory by ensuring they have enough product in stock and keep min/max levels updated to ensure that our MRP runs to provide a plan for when inventory is low.

  Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor, the individual will be responsible to maintain high levels of customer service and fill rates by establishing and monitoring inventory levels, releasing purchase orders to suppliers and coordinating all required logistics services.             Scope for the Inventory Planning Specialist ; Supply Chain Planner:   The Replenishment Specialist will utilize the MRP system within AX to review, plan and execute purchase orders to ensure item min/max levels are adhered too for high turn inventory and place purchase orders for customer and production needs as required.  This position requires a high level of coordination within the Replenishment Team, internal departments such as Customer Care, Production, Logistics service providers, Suppliers and Customers to ensure replenishment activities consistently meet customer needs.   MAJOR TASKS AND DUTIES for the Inventory Planning Specialist ; Supply Chain Planner:        

  • Must be familiar with processes and procedures for the replenishment of inventory to meet inventory and customer service goals including high order fill rates, high inventory turns and an overall low days of inventory for the company.
  • Execute MRP activities within AX for assigned items and vendors and determine items and quantities required to be reordered.
  • Execute purchase orders to vendors, coordinate logistics requirements and monitor the status of PO's to ensure on time arrival.
  • Support rush requests to meet customer requirements.
  • Communicate confirmed purchase orders for delivery with logistics carriers, validating and processing related documentation.
  • Manage issues and exceptions with vendors and logistics service providers such as delivery discrepancies, damages, demurrage and other surcharges, pricing discrepancies, etc.
  • Process receipts for third party warehouses and B2B drop shipments.
  • Maintain MRP data as business and supplier changes occur, regularly evaluate inventory min/max settings to ensure alignment with business needs and execute updates for floor stocking agreements with customers
  • Submit change controls as required to maintain system master data.
  • Approve invoices to accounting for payment, addressing discrepancies and claims as required.
  • Assist with investigation and support in customer complaints and supplier NCR's. Help to provide solutions to eliminate the potential for future
  • Support Buyers to maintain professional relationships with suppliers/vendors and third party logistics carriers
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Inventory Planning and Replenishment Supervisor
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, GMP's and HACCP requirements
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE for the Inventory Planning Specialist ; Supply Chain Planner:
  • Inventory Planning experience
  • ERP or MRP experience
  • Logistics experience
  • Post-Secondary Education, Supply Chain or Logistics is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory planning, additional logistics experience an asset.
  • MRP Microsoft AX experience a definite asset.
  • Excel skills
  • Must have intermediate computer skills (Excel, Outlook)
