Job Title: Inventory Clerk
Location: Norwich, CT 06360
Pay Rate: $21 per hour  

Job Summary:
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for accurately processing returned products, ensuring inventory integrity, proper documentation, and accurate customer billing. This role works closely with drivers, transportation supervisors, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, maintain compliance with temperature and quality standards, and support continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify returned products and apply accurate reason codes (e.g., mispicks, driver shorts, refusals) to ensure accounting and inventory reports reflect correct data.

  • Confirm all returned products meet established temperature guidelines to maintain product integrity and food safety standards.

  • Process and maintain all documentation related to returns and customer order adjustments, both paper and digital, ensuring inventory and invoice accuracy.

  • Inspect returned products and determine proper disposition, including saleable, damaged/recuperation, or out-of-code disposal, ensuring correct coding is applied.

  • Execute end-of-day processes and reports, researching and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Collaborate with drivers and transportation supervisors to address return-related issues, identify training or retraining needs, and recommend process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Knowledge of inventory control and returns processing

  • Ability to work with temperature-sensitive products

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

  • Basic computer skills and experience with digital documentation

  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
