Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting candidates for a Chemist position at a chemical company in northwest Houston. The overall responsibility of the position is to provide analytical support for a pilot plant by following methodologies, performing analyses, and interpreting data.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot an ICP instrument along with others
• Analyze samples for alkalinity, total dissolved solids, total suspended solids, and other inorganic analyses
• Follow the methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures for the assigned tests
• Document activities and report results in a concise and accurate manner
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory equipment and areas
• Assist in ordering and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Chemistry or related field 
• 5+ years' applicable experience
• Specific experience with ICP instrumentation is required
• Familiar with analytical techniques, chemical-handling, and laboratory procedures
• Ability to use lab testing equipment
• Basic knowledge of Quality Control and Statistical Control principles
• Excellent organizational skills in order to complete various sample tests simultaneously
• Written and verbal communication and active listening skills
• Ability to read and interpret operating instructions
• Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team-based environment
