Human Resources Generalist
Location: Onsite in Cleveland, OH
Pay Rate: $28-32/hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Hire
Kelly Services is partnering with a dynamic non-profit organization to find a Human Resources Generalist to join their team. The HR Generalist will support daily operations including employee relations, recruitment, benefits administration, compliance, and HR recordkeeping. This role provides front-line HR support to employees and managers, ensuring policies and practices are applied consistently while supporting a positive organizational culture aligned with the organization's mission. Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Administer employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance documentation, and offboarding.
- Coordinate employee benefits programs; assist with enrollments, changes, and vendor communications.
- Maintain HRIS accuracy and employee records; generate reports as needed.
- Support compliance with employment laws, union contract provisions, and museum policies.
- Partner with managers to address employee relations issues at the early stages; escalate complex matters to HR leadership.
- Assist with staff training logistics, professional development tracking, and DEI initiatives.
- Contribute to HR projects such as policy updates, handbook revisions, or staff engagement surveys.
- Support payroll administration with timely updates on new hires, terminations, and employee status changes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in Human Resources or related functions, preferably in non-profit.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Knowledge of HR laws and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
