Description

Position: HR Generalist 
Location: Cambridge, MA
Job Type: 5 month temp with opportunity  
Hybrid Work Schedule: Onsite presence is required three days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), with remote work on Wednesdays and Fridays. Flexibility may be offered on occasion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries for the 375 employees, including those at the Cambridge HQ, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment while addressing employee concerns and resolving issues effectively.
  • Benefits Administration: Lead the evaluation and selection of a new benefits provider, working closely with key stakeholders to identify options that align with company goals and budgetary considerations. Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive, company-wide benefits strategy that improves employee satisfaction, supports retention, and remains competitive in the market.
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Manage and update company policies to reflect any legal changes. Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to HR policies and regulatory requirements, and ensure the company is fully prepared for any external audits or inspections.
  • HRIS Management & Support: Lead the administration of HR systems (BambooHR, Lattice, Greenhouse, or similar systems), ensuring data integrity and ease of use for the HR team. Oversee HRIS updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting to support HR operations effectively.
  • Onboarding & Employee Experience: Design and refine the onboarding process to ensure new hires have a seamless and welcoming experience. Ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed from day one.
  • HR Project Management: Lead and manage key HR projects, including benefits reviews, compensation adjustments, compliance training, and employee engagement initiatives. Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Performance Management & Training: Oversee the administration of performance reviews, providing guidance on effective performance management, goal setting, and training development programs. Help implement strategies for improving employee development and retention.
  • Team Collaboration & HR Strategy: Work closely with the HR team and senior leadership to drive HR strategy aligned with the company's goals. Provide support and mentorship to HR staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Qualifications:
  • HRIS Expertise: Experience managing HRIS platforms such as BambooHR, Lattice, and Greenhouse (or similar systems) to drive HR processes efficiently and effectively.
  • Benefits & Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of benefits administration, regulatory compliance, and best practices in HR, with the ability to navigate complex legal requirements and provide solutions.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Proven ability to communicate complex HR policies and procedures clearly to employees at all levels, and serve as a trusted advisor for leadership on HR matters.
  • Adaptability: Ability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple HR initiatives simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working in a tech-driven environment, with proficiency in HR tools and Google products. Familiarity with Mac systems is a plus.
  • Team-Oriented Leadership: Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach to working with HR colleagues, department heads, and senior leadership.
